5 Good Bluetooth Headphones and Headsets 2015
Guide for the Latest Bluetooth Headsets
Because I work at home and have 5 kids under the age of 9 I have to be able to communicate wherever I go, without the use of my hands - as those are generally occupied. For this reason Bluetooth functionality is more than just essential - it allows me to do all of the multitasking I need to do in a day.
Here's my review of five of the best Bluetooth headphones and headsets on the market for 2015.
5 Good Bluetooth Headsets for the Money in 2015
LG Tone+ Wireless Bluetooth Headset
For the person who doesn't want to deal with wires, there is this handy Bluetooth headset. It features an around the neck design that won't weigh you down. There are music controls on the neck strap and when you aren't using this device, the ear buds snap into place with magnets. They are also water resistant for those of you who are out in the elements but still want a functional device, or for heavy sweating.
A feature that I really enjoy is the BT reader app which is compatible with my phone's Android operating system. This app will read your incoming text messages in real time so you can still be contacted even when your phone is in your pocket, or purse.
The LG Tone+ will give you up to 10 hours of talk and music time and includes number redial, voice dial, call reject and call waiting. While I still think this is a great headset for the money, the bass certainly isn't perfect and occasionally I activate some of the buttons with my chin. Know before buying that it's not noise cancelling either. Aside from that, this headset is very comfortable to wear and can handle calls well.
A Good Bluetooth Headset Under $50
Motorola S305 Bluetooth Headset
This headset is compatible with your Apple products or any other stereo capable Bluetooth device. It is very lightweight and wireless for convenience. It features two 30mm speakers to give you strong sound with good bass with all the highs and mids covered in your music listening.
There is a microphone that is located right underneath the right speaker so you can switch from listening to music to taking a call with the touch of a button. The design is quite appealing to users with a kind of futuristic look.
The Motorola S305 features a behind the head wearing style and is lightweight. Many users say that the band is not the most comfortable and it cannot be adjusted. The control interface has a large call button on the side of the right speaker and making calls requires only a tap of this button. For your charging needs, it has a micro USB port on the side. Buyers should be aware that this headset is probably not a good companion on workouts; many users have complained that upon sweating, the unit shorts out. But if you prefer a device like this for every day kind of use, it can still be a good purchase.
Plantronics M50 Bluetooth Headphones
If you want an interactive Bluetooth, then this is it. You get voice alerts that tell you your talk time, volume level, connection and more to keep you in the loop. This can fit in either ear comfortably. For the price, you get Bluetooth streaming capabilities, music listening ability, podcasts and even GPS directions.
It also allows you to maintain connections with two or more devices, has micro USB charging and gives you up to 11 hours of talk time. The multipoint ability lets you answer either phone that the Bluetooth is connected to.
If you have an iPhone, it will display the battery meter so you know where you stand on power before launching into a long conversation. Users have reported that this can be hard to insert onto your ear if you wear glasses, and that the noise level isn't loud enough to drown out surrounding sound; this might be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your needs. Users really like how lightweight it is and have found the GPS directions to be clear and useful.
Plantronics Voyager PRO+ Bluetooth Headset
As a highly rated item, this headset is comfortable and gives you quality sound for music and telephone conversations. It also features GPS navigation in your ear. It was made with noise blocking technology so you can hear your voice clearly and any music as well.
With three layers of wind blocking technology, talking on this while outside is a, pardon the pun, a breeze. The purchase of the Plantronics Voyager Pro+ headset includes a free, one year subscription to Plantronics Vocalyst which gives you a plethora of voice and text services to use with your headset.
Some of these include being able to have your emails, text messages or Twitter feeds read to you and can even send text replies. You also get voice alerts for when your batter is low, to let you know your phone is connected, etc. Users like that you can connect to up to two devices at the same time.
Some things to consider are that the device is a little on the larger side compared to other headsets on the market and your volume controls can be hard to find by touch. Something that users would like but this does not offer is caller ID announcing. The most loved features by owners of this headset are the long battery life, how quick it charges and the level of volume you get without it being too little or too much.
Jaybird Freedom Bluetooth Earbuds
One great feature with these Jaybird earbuds is that they have a lifetime warranty against sweat, so you can work out with these with no fear of losing your technology. They offer up to 6 hours of talk or music time and have pretty good sound as is reviewed by users. Your music controls include, play, pause, next and previous track.
There are three different sizes of ear tips to accommodate you, it has a USB charging cable and a hard shell magnet sealed carrying case. Users have reported that the audio/mic quality while on the telephone is kind of sub-par and the main answering button is hard to press. However, the features that users love are the music sound quality and how comfortable these are in your ears; having the different ear tips means that you can share the device if you need to. The design is simple and not bulky like others on the market.
